How to Play:

  • Choose a level using the hand buttons:
    '1-3', '1-5', or '1-10'.
  • The game has three rounds.
  • Cards are released up to 3 at a time. As the child fills the blanks, more cards appear.
  • Flip the cards to find the numbers and place them in the correct order by dragging each card to the blank.
  • If you get it right on the first try, you earn a gold coin with a crown. If you get it right on another try, you earn a gold coin with a pirate skull.
  • At the end of three rounds, the game shows your results.

About the Game:

There are many counting games online, most focused only on arranging scattered numbers. In FlipToy Counting, the difference is how the numbers are presented: three cards are face down, and only one is face up at a time, like a memory game!

Cards are not shuffled randomly. Among the three cards shown, there’s always the right one for the sequence, and no very high numbers appear too early to block progress. Imagine if, in a sequence from 1 to 10, the 10 appeared right away, boring, right?

Another difference is the user experience (UX), which is fun, friendly, and intuitive. The game combines art, design, programming, communication, and neuroscience to help children and educators learn numbers.

Forming the sequence helps children practice memory strategies while flipping the cards.
Cards show the number, the number’s name in words, and the quantity with dots to help visual learning. Tip: tap the blanks to see the dots, tap again to see the numbers, and tap once more to see the pirate skull! This way, even children who are just starting to recognize numbers can learn in different ways.

FlipToy is inspired by the game UNO, loved by kids. It’s a constructive-style game where children actively participate in arranging the cards.

The Pirate Beach theme makes the game more fun, with treasure chests that release cards with smiling skulls. Wearing a pirate captain’s hat, PUFFI, the AI cloud, shuffles the cards, and the Emoji Sailor jumps at the end of each round.

Fun Facts:

Counting with Fingers:
Did you know that when we first learn numbers, they go from 1 to 10? It’s not a coincidence!
We have 5 fingers on each hand, so it’s easy to count up to 10 using our fingers!

Pirate Treasure Chests:
Did you know that real pirates buried treasure chests?
To remember where they were, they made secret maps with special clues!
That’s why opening a pirate chest in stories and games is always an adventure full of surprises!

AI in the Cloud:
Do you know why they say Artificial Intelligence (AI) is “in the cloud”?
It’s not a real cloud in the sky! The name comes from special places full of computers that can be accessed from anywhere in the world, as if they were “up in the sky” with the clouds, and everyone could see them at the same time.

From Books to Reality – AI:
Did you know AI only became really smart recently?
The idea of teaching computers to learn on their own was an old dream, mostly in books and movies. Only a few years ago, scientists made it work for real!
With special techniques called neural networks, and lots of practice, computers can recognize patterns and learn from examples.
Just like our smart cloud PUFFI, who now helps shuffle the cards in FlipToy Counting!
